Is Counselling Right for you?
Counselling is a safe and effective way to explore the many emotional, practical, and psychological issues in your life. It can help you develop new perspectives and purpose whilst nurturing a deeper sense of self and who you really are. Counselling can assist with developing more meaningful relationships, and ultimately positive change.
Counselling falls under the umbrella term of ‘talking therapies’. Counselling is a process of talking about and working through your personal problems with a qualified counsellor. My role as your counsellor is to help you to address problems in a positive way by helping you to clarify the issues, explore options, develop strategies, personal goals and increase self-awareness.

My Approach
Together, we will address your problems in order for you to understand how to best resolve them. I will work with you and help you find ways to solve your own problems.
Our sessions will be an impartial, confidential, and non-judgmental service provided to suit your individual needs.
In our sessions, we will approach all of this in a collaborative, conversational way, remaining open, reflective, and curious about what emerges.
I offer hour long sessions arranged flexibly to meet your work life balance. This helps build trust in a safe and consistent environment.
I am based in Cardiff but I am very happy to undertake home visits anywhere in South East Wales.
Psychotherapy is usually longer term or open-ended due to the depth of the work. It will involve an exploration of your story, the underlying issues that have brought you here, and how you experience connection and relationships. There may be acute or immediate issues that you want to explore too. As you can imagine, this is not a straight forward process, but it can be deeply rewarding.
Many people embarking on therapy ask, will it 'fix' them? It's a good question. Of course, deep down we all know there is no magic wand or short-cut. Whilst some therapeutic techniques can be cathartic, and can help us reframe particular issues, I also hold that psychotherapy is about taking time to explore human complexity, and what it means to be you.
The sessions will be about what you bring to the counselling room for us to discuss as a partnership. we will, in bite size pieces, examine the issues that you bring and jointly resolve them at your own pace.
