Individual Counselling in Cardiff
Sometimes life can feel difficult to manage on your own. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma or simply feel that something in your life needs to change.
I offer individual counselling in Cardiff in a calm, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you can talk openly about what is happening for you.
Counselling gives you time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Together, we can look at the difficulties you are facing, develop a greater understanding of what may be contributing to them and explore positive ways forward.
How counselling can help
People come to counselling for many different reasons. There does not need to be a crisis before you ask for support.
You may be struggling with:
-
Anxiety or persistent worry
-
Stress or feeling overwhelmed
-
Depression or low mood
-
Low self-esteem or confidence
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Bereavement, grief or loss
-
Trauma or difficult past experiences
-
Separation or divorce
-
Health concerns or changes in circumstances
-
Work or family pressures
-
Major life changes
-
Feeling stuck, lost or unsure about the future
Sometimes it can simply help to have somewhere confidential to talk, away from the expectations and pressures of everyday life.

A counselling approach centred around you
Everyone's experience is different, so counselling is not about giving you a set of instructions or telling you what you should do.
My approach is supportive and collaborative. I will listen without judgement and help you explore what is happening in a way that feels comfortable and appropriate for you.
Over time, counselling can help you understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours more clearly, recognise patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing and consider changes that could help you move forward.

What happens when you first get in touch?
Taking the first step towards counselling can sometimes feel daunting, particularly if you have never spoken to a counsellor before.
I offer a free initial consultation so that we can talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you would like support with.
It also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and decide whether you feel comfortable working with me. There is no obligation to continue with counselling following the initial conversation.
Individual counselling fees
Individual counselling sessions are £50.
Sessions are available in person at my Cardiff counselling room or online.
For further information about fees and appointments, please visit my Fees page or get in touch.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know exactly what I want to talk about?
No. Many people begin counselling knowing that something does not feel right but are unsure exactly why. We can explore this together during your sessions.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. What you discuss during counselling is treated confidentially, subject to the usual professional and legal exceptions which I can explain when we first meet.
How many counselling sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number. Some people choose short-term counselling to explore a particular difficulty, while others find longer-term counselling more helpful. We can review this together as the work progresses.
Do you offer online counselling?
Yes. Online counselling is available for clients who prefer remote sessions or find travelling to Cardiff difficult.
Where are you based?
My counselling room is in Llanishen, Cardiff, with convenient access from surrounding areas.
